New to forum, and a bride to be :) Help needed!

Hi, everyone J I am new to this forum. Since I will be getting engaged soon, thought I would also start planning for my wedding and ask you all for advice/help

I currently live in the USA. Here are a few starting point questions I would like to ask you guys J

Engagement:
I want a simple engagement. I know usually the guys family goes to the girls house where they exchange rings. But I was thinking we can go to the guys house and do the ring exchange. What do you guys think about that? It would be in the house. We both live in 2 separate states.

Wedding:
So I know for a fact I will have a mehndi, shaadi, valima day.

• Do you guys prefer to do nikkah the day of shaadi reception, or in advance before the reception?
• What would be a reasonable cost for the entire wedding If any of you brides got married, what was the approx you spent for all 3 day events? I live in the USA. Also do you think its better the groom side and bride side split it half for all 3 days? Venues are hell expensive ahhh I plan to get most of the things from Pakistan, such as invitation cards, dresses, jewelry, small décor maybe.

For now I think this a starting point for me. I want to start planning asap since I know all these things take time.

If there are any starter tips you guys can give me I would appreciate it. Sorry for a long post
