What type jewelry does a bride wear?

Hi,

I'd like to know what sort of jewelry is worn by brides in the wedding functions - do they wear pure gold sets with gems or is it gold plated with swarovski type crystals/cubic zirconia?
In a moderate type of wedding, what sort of budget would one expect to set aside for the bridal jewelry?
