Does anyone have any recommendations of mehndi artists and/or DJs in the Southern CA area? I'm looking for someone that can do bridal henna at fairly affordable prices...I kind of like that 2 tone mehndi thing that most brides in Pak have (dark outline with light orange filling) but I don't know if anyone can do that here.

Same for DJ...someone affordable and good. Looking for desi/bollywood music at the mehndi! Please help me! :)

Had my makeup trial today. Loved the makeup, hair...not so much. Now I'm confused about what to do with my hair.

I had originally wanted a middle part like these:

But my mother told me that I won't be able to wear a jhoomar with that kind of style. And she said that the reason those girls hair probably looks like that is because they have bangs. I have zero experience with hair styling so no idea.

I wanted to wear a nath, tikka, jhoomar so now I'm lost as to what to do.
Any ideas?

I have an oval face and I usually part my hair on the side. I have no bangs but longer layers with my hair going to my mid back at this point.

My mother suggested something like this:

I REALLY like the middle part though. There's something really classic about it...

Asa all

My BIL is getting married in Lahore in April to a Pakistani girl that he met. I needed advice on where to buy outfits from in Lahore as I only have 6 days to buy my outfits before the Mehndi ceremony.

Could you recommend places where I could buy ready embroidered designs which I could just stitch to my size?

I also have to get 4 mehndi outfiits and 4 wedding outfits for my daughters (they are all aged under 10) total budget for my daughters is £250

My SIL to be offered to help but her suggestions are not to my liking ... I don't want to spend more than £100 on mehndi outfit and upto £160 for the wedding outfit for myself

I know my budget is really low but from past experience I have found that I don't get the chance to wear heavy outfits again in the UK so I don't want to waste money anymore. I would rather use the money to buy semi-formal and kurtas which I get more use out of.

I have ordered from Proto in the past and am really happy with her but this time I wanted the experience of going to look for outfits.

Would love it if you could give me some tips, I read through other posts and Ichra Market has been mentioned, is it better than Liberty?

I've been looking for wedding shoes for the barat day with no success. I love Jimmy Choos but I can't afford those and I don't want to wear a knockoff version. Anyone have any recommendations for a decent shoe store in Lahore? I could get something from here but Pakistani heels are made for shalwar kameez and it'll be different looking. BUT the shoes from there are so uncomfortable. Any ideas?

my experience with Sadaf Farhan bridal MUA in ISLB

So finally after a years long planning , the big wedding day happened very calmly mA.

I had booked Sadaf Farhan from islb for my baraat makeup based on her fb page and few recommendations. I liked her work presented on FB yet i was very scared of going into the unknown. I had refused to go to the most famous parlour as i feared to wait in queues of brides and did not want a common look.

Another fear i had was that Sadafs parlour was almost 2hours away from the wedding venue so i was stressed about a worn out look once i would reach the venue.

MA, all went well and Sadaf parlour was in a quiet residential area of F11/3. Her place was neat, chic and quiet. Not overbooked. We had booking for me , the bride, and 4 bridesmaid. We reached at 1pm. Her assistant started on my manicure and pedicure while Sadaf and another assistant started on two bridesmaid makeup. Sadaf did the eyes and lips + blush for each bridesmaid. Foundation was set by the assistant. The hair were done by another hair assistant.

My makeup was fully done by Sadaf. Hair was done by the hairstylist who had close instructions from Sadaf. I really liked the overall look she created. She gave good advices regarding the jewellery setting. The only thing that i was not too happy about was that my foundation was too oily during the wedding function, under all the lighting. My brother kept on coming on stage to tell me this :smack:. She did use two tone lighter shade foundation explaing that ususally in pakistan they use 4 times lighter as it was all for the pictures.

Overall the experience was lovely. We spent a gala time with Sadaf and the assistants. We were treated with cold drinks and snacks.

I loved the fact that she keeps One bride policy per slot (one am, one pm). It gives you the attention any bride require on her big day.

I returned to her new salon , now located in F6 at Labels (F7 and F6 being the mainstream area for the big parlours) . I went for a party makeup and it turned out very nice.

here the dilema my inlaws gave me money to buy cosmetics for the wedding.i told them i hav a lot of makeup as is and i ll be using that one even after wedding.they were like no u hav to buy new makeup we hav to show it to the ppl in our family as bari etc.i ws thnkng since i hav a lot of makeup some of it still in packaging can i pass that makeup to them and save the money which i ll use to buy stuff i ll need latter?i ll be moving out of country after wedding so i wont be taking all that makeup with me i need suggestion

Hello everyone,
This is my first post here so obvi im new. I just wanted some advice.
I am looking for dresses for my wedding. So far for baraat day my favorite has been http://www.pkbridal.com/wp-content/g...ts-2014-16.jpg and for walima one like This makes me wish American wedding dresses were less white bread. | FollowPics I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations like these.
Also, I had another question. I am going to be going to Pakistan for the wedding and will probably spend about a month there at my in laws after the wedding. I was wondering if it is expected that I take gifts for them from here and what gifts should I give. To clarify, I mean separate from gifts my parents probably plan on giving due to the wedding.

And my last question is about the gifts as well. When I go from here, my bhabhi will be going too. She is also my nand. Am I supposed to treat her as my in laws as far as gifts etc goes? I have the same problem with my sister who is also my husband's brothers wife. I am unsure whether to treat them as in laws or maika.

Anyone have a recommendation for a mehndi artist? I'm looking for heavier designs and someone that preferably lives in the OC/LA area. I went and contacted Henna Dil Se and they're busy...and charging close to 600. I'm trying to keep it less than 250 if possible.

Along those same lines, foot mehndi - yay or nay? I'm deciding whether it's worth it...

I have a cousin's wedding coming up and I wanted to get a replica made of this, but it's TOO heavy. If you could reduce some kaam on it, what would it be? Would you change the color? (not sure if I should wear red to a wedding the bride will be wearing red to) If someone has made a replica of this, please post a picture.

Also, I don't know if it's ok to ask this here, but I don't know where else to. I know GS has some home-based designers and there's a review thread for each. But they've had bad reviews time to time. So how would you pick one? This will be my first time getting in touch with the designer and I don't think I can afford to have a designer mess up a dress.

Hey everyone

My sister is getting married in Pakistan in December 2015 in shaa Allah. The wedding will be in Kallar Syedan, a village near Pindi. My sister doesn't want to travel to Pindi to get her make up done and the make up artists don't travel to people's house like they do here in the UK.

So does anyone know any make up artists in Kallar?!?! Or can they suggest local make up artists? I've had my walima make up done in Pak and they're kind of pushy and do what they feel like, even if you tell them what you want.

My sister isn't a fussy person, but she wants her make up to look amazing.

Any suggsstions/ideas would be so helpful.
