Party hair & make up- West London

Hello!

Need some recommendations for a Hair and MUA for party/non bridal hair and makeup only....

I've used a few great ones over the years but prices seem to be rising every few months! Most are charging £100+ which for a family wedding I may have just gone with but I'm just a normal guest at this upcoming event who wants to be a little more polished than usual!

Any recommendations? I'm looking for someone in the £60 range in West London. Depending on location am happy to travel to them too.

If possible please post links to their work too

Hello lovely people,

Apart from WSSA ( they're all over the place and also heard a lot of complaints saying that they delay in giving the pictures and videos of the events); I'm looking for some professional photographers and videographers ( esp those dealing with cinematic style videos) in Dubai.

Also, would appreciate if I could get the price range ( I am on a strict budget) The ones I have enquired with as quoting prices as high as 30k Dirhams!! which is a lot for my budget :(

Salam all,

i know this post has been done to death on this forum. But they are all kind of old and doesn't include any information on the saloons i am currently considering going to.

So I m getting married in March of 2016 and am from Pindi. I am darkishhh..... would be wearing red on baraat and have a budget of around 60 k in total for both days

Now i am considering two saloons Anushay Khan in Saddar and Ummarah in Chaklala, for my baraat and valima make up.

Which one is better? Any other suggestions?

Hi there
I am going to Pak in March InshaAllah for sister in laws wedding, I have been looking everywhere for outfits but can't find any. I have put abit weight on had a baby 6 months ago MA so something that will look good on someone not so slim 😊 I am wondering if people can give me ideas on outfits for mehndi barat and waleema. I also have a 2 year old girl so would like her to be slightly matching.

Have sent Elan so many emails....no reply. Unfortunately have no family in Pakistan so can't find out that way either. It's disappointing that a designer like Elan fails to reply to emails- makes me think of what the customer service is like...

So I'm back. I met my future husband 9 months ago, we work for the same company. We kept it hush-hush until last week when we both went to our respective parents and told them about each other. He met my parents, I met his and today both families got together and we decided we're getting Married in May.

We're keeping it very simple. Nikkah and Reception on the same day and that's all. So now I need help because the things that are really important to me are videographers, photographers, decor and DJ.

If anyone can send some recommendations my way for these things in Toronto that would be great.

So my wedding has been finalised in the month of ramadan. I am honestly very worried as to how it will work out. So has anyone attended a wedding in ramazan? And if yes please do share any advice on planning and managing it. Oh and I was thinking that the mehndi could be after aftari and we will serve sehri as food for the guests. What do you guys think?

Hey guys,

I tried looking for an up to date thread on Makeup artists in the UK but didn't really find anything, most threads were from years ago.

So I wanted to know any MUAs you would recommend here in London or the rest of the UK, someone whose work you've seen.

I know of quite a few artists, but I've read threads on some how they are snotty, or they do make up to simple, or too much and sometimes they have some good pics on their instagram but some really bad ones and a lot look edited at times. So any real reviews would be helpful.

I know of Dil, Annie Shah, Ambreen, Lubna Rafiq, Anam is in London now, Bina Khan (I've heard she does brides in London as well) oh and Zukreat.

So it would be great if people could give reviews on these people and any other artists you may know of.

WE are travelinh to Pakistan for my sisters wedding at the end of July 2016 from the UK. WE live in s small village in Jauharabad khushab near sargodha

We are stuggling to find a make up artist as the ones near us are not that good. we have inquired from make up artist from lahore/islamabad, some don't travel that far and others are giving prices higher then a UK make up artiest would charge here.

can anyone recommend a make up artist that is close to us and who wont mind traveling n staying the overnight to do the brides barat and valima make up n 6 bridesmades.

Outdoor wedding dress?

So I am planning an outdoor garden type wedding. However I'm a bit iffy on what the colors of my dress should be. I am in love with this dress:

I have contact the designer for pricing (btw, anyone know rana noman bridal charges?) and if it's outside my budget I would like to get a similar outfit made with same colors.

But I feel this outfit would be better suited to a hall venue wedding versus outdoor... Idk. Will this outfit look odd in a garden venue? What decor should I do? I'm going to be doing lots of lights on trees and stuff as well as flowers. I was thinking red and pink flowers, but would pink fit?

I'm just confused lol. Please give me your 2 cents on the idea!

Hi, everyone J I am new to this forum. Since I will be getting engaged soon, thought I would also start planning for my wedding and ask you all for advice/help

I currently live in the USA. Here are a few starting point questions I would like to ask you guys J

Engagement:
I want a simple engagement. I know usually the guys family goes to the girls house where they exchange rings. But I was thinking we can go to the guys house and do the ring exchange. What do you guys think about that? It would be in the house. We both live in 2 separate states.

Wedding:
So I know for a fact I will have a mehndi, shaadi, valima day.

  • Do you guys prefer to do nikkah the day of shaadi reception, or in advance before the reception?
  • What would be a reasonable cost for the entire wedding If any of you brides got married, what was the approx you spent for all 3 day events? I live in the USA. Also do you think its better the groom side and bride side split it half for all 3 days? Venues are hell expensive ahhh I plan to get most of the things from Pakistan, such as invitation cards, dresses, jewelry, small décor maybe.


For now I think this a starting point for me. I want to start planning asap since I know all these things take time.

If there are any starter tips you guys can give me I would appreciate it. Sorry for a long post
